Dinthill Tech PTA honours staff
There was laughter and a spirit on camaraderie at the Dinthill Technical High School last week as the parent-teacher association (PTA) showed appreciation to the 128 staff members of the 87-year-old institution.
The occasion saw each member of staff of the Linstead, St Catherine-based school being presented with a trophy for their contribution. President of the PTA, Amoy Levers, said that it was the last meeting for the academic year for the PTA, therefore it was timely for the ceremony. Levers said that it is high time for the institution to appreciate not just the academic staff, but also the ancillary staff, which have been giving yeoman's service.
"We are of the view that the entire staff complement has been working at the schools need to be so recognised and we (the PTA) find it necessary to do so and simply say thanks," Levers said.
Dinthill Technical Principal Anthony Garwood, who has been the school's leader since November 2020, expressed appreciation for the gesture.
"This is a meaningful ceremony for the school's family and it is truly appreciated. Each act of encouragement is a way to say that you are appreciated and the PTA epitomises that gesture today," Garwood said.
