Two dead, woman among wounded in Spanish Town shooting
A deadly gun attack in Spanish Town, St Catherine, on Wednesday night has left two men dead and two other people, including a woman, nursing gunshot wounds.
The shooting unfolded about 10:51 p.m. along Corletts Road, where a group of people had reportedly gathered when armed men swooped down and opened fire.
Initial reports indicated that one man had been killed and three others injured. However, updated information revealed that a second victim later died while undergoing treatment in hospital.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been released.
Police sources said the gunmen carried out the brazen attack before fleeing the area.
All four victims were rushed to hospital, but despite medical efforts, two of them succumbed to their injuries. The two surviving victims remain under medical care.
Detectives assigned to the Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have launched a probe into the double murder and shooting.
Investigators are appealing to anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact the police.
