Molynes coach resting after anxiety attack
Molynes United president Herman Cruickshank says assistant coach Andre Daley is well, after suffering what has since been discovered to be an anxiety attack on Sunday.
Daley left their game against Arnett Gardens in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) on Sunday at half-time and was taken to hospital, where he was examined and released on the same evening.
Molynes head coach Garnet Lawrence said the incident rattled his players, causing them to surrender their lead for a 2-1 loss.
"When it happened, it left everybody in a sombre mood," Cruickshank told STAR Sports. "After the game, everybody rallied around him and they never wanted to leave [the hospital] until they knew exactly what was happening.
"Then they told us that he had to do two tests and then they can release him. So when they realised that he was good, it was then that they left."
Cruickshank said the episode started at half-time when Daley, who was not satisfied with the team's performance in the first half, started complaining of headaches, which was accompanied by shortness of breath.
"He has this issue where he finds breathing difficult sometimes," Cruickshank said. "But I believe he just got flustered because of the game and overexerted himself.
"He had a headache and started to blow short and took some pills, but when he went into the changing room again he started to blow short again and so we just rushed him to the hospital. It was just an anxiety attack.
"Mr Daley is the go-to man for the team. The players relate to Mr Daley better than how they relate to most people because he has been there with them for some time."
Molynes (four points), are second from bottom in the JPL standings, but they only lead Montego Bay United on goal difference.
