Arnett Gardens defeated Harbour View 3-0 in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex on Sunday.

Following the result, head coach Paul 'Tegat' Davis says he got the response he was looking for after their lacklustre draw against Humble Lion last week.

Marlon Allen (17th), Kimani Arbouine (54th), and Fabian Reid (60th) scored for the 'Junglists,' who moved to second in the table, one point ahead of Waterhouse, who play Portmore this evening at the same venue, and one behind leaders Dunbeholden.

Arnett's Janoi Cunningham was ejected moments after coming on in the 86th minute.

However, Davis, who called for an improve display after a lethargic performance last match day, said he was very pleased with the effort on the night.

"It is always nice getting three goals," he said. "I thought our midfielders Shandee James, Romeo Guthrie, and Marlon Martin really controlled the game and the backline was compact.

"And it is nice to see [Ronaldo] Cephas getting back to himself. It was a good overall game and I was pleased tonight to see how they worked.

"The intensity tonight was better than the last game against Humble Lion. Against Humble Lion the intensity wasn't there.

"Also we want to put some pressure on the top two teams and see if we can get in the top two, as that is our aim right now."

Arnett started well and had chances through Allen and Arbouine.

Allen opened the scoring when he capitalised on a good run from Cephas to score from close range.

Moments later Cephas had a chance to double the lead but his shot was cleared off the line.

However, they didn't have long to wait after the interval for a second goal, as in the 54th minute, Arbouine picked up a through ball from James and slotted home.

Reid made it 3-0 in the 60th minute, when he rose above the Harbour View defence to head home a cross.

Nicholas Hamilton had Harbour View's best chance but his shot was turned away by goalkeeper Eric Edward's in the 68th.

Harbour View coach Ludlow Bernard said it was a chaotic display from his team.

"I thought we were all over the place," he said. "The second half, when we settled down, I thought it was a bit too late because by that time Arnett would have gotten their rhythm.

"But our team does not have a lot of cutting-edge persons and against a quality team, we really do need all ammunition to be available."

The defeat leaves Harbour View in sixth on 20 points.

In other JPL games, Tivoli stopped Vere 1-0, Mount Pleasant turned back Montego Bay United 3-0, and Humble Lion beat Cavalier 2-0.

In today's games, Dunbeholden face Molynes at 5 p.m., and Waterhouse take on Portmore at 7:30 p.m. at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.
