CHORZOW, Poland:

Armand Duplantis has broken the world record in the pole vault again, this time clearing 6.26 metres at the Silesia Kamila Skolimowska Memorial Wanda Diamond League meet in Poland yesterday. Two world records were established at the meet.

Duplantis, the Louisiana-born 24-year-old who competes for his mother's native Sweden, added another centimetre to his world record in Chorzow.

It's the third time this year that he has set a world record. He did so at the recent Olympic Games in Paris, clearing 6.25 metres after clinching the gold medal.

Duplantis, who is widely known as "Mondo", has now broken the world record 10 times in his career -- each time by one centimetre.

Meanwhile, Jakob Ingebrigtsen of Norway broke the 28-year world record in the 3,000 metres by more than three seconds.

Ingebrigtsen clocked seven minutes, 17.55 seconds. It shattered the previous best mark of 7:20.67 set by Daniel Komen of Kenya in 1996.

Ingebrigtsen won gold in the 5,000 at the Olympic Games, but lost his title in the 1,500 in Paris.
