A solitary goal from Elizabeth Miller in the first half proved the difference for Jamaica's under-17 Reggae Girlz as they defeated Honduras 1-0 to take Group D honours and advance to the final round of Concacaf Women's U17 Championship.

Jamaica, on seven points, entered the fixture needing a win to advance as they trailed Honduras with a perfect record of nine points from three matches.

The Central Americans came into the fixture as favourites following their dominant performances leading up the group's final game.

But it was the Jamaicans who took the lead as Miller rose highest in the box in the 44th minute to head home a corner delivery from teammate Shannel Walters.

The young Girlz would maintain their lead until the final whistle and moved to 10 points.

Honduras slumped to their first defeat of the campaign as they finished runners-up on nine. Guyana, seven, finished third in the group ahead of Aruba, fourth, on three.

St Vincent and the Grenadines remained rooted at the foot of the table as they lost all four of their games and finished without a point.

With the result, Jamaica secured their spot in the final round of the Concacaf Women's U17 Championship where they will compete for a spot in the FIFA Women's U17 World Cup to be held in Morocco in October.

The top four teams from the final round of the Concacaf Championship will book their spot at the World Cup.
