American singer Brandon Rootz says being the opening act for Barrington Levy on his US tour is a timely career boost, especially with a debut album on the way.

The California native has a 30-minute slot performing for hardcore fans before Levy hits the stage. Levy's 'A Fi Yuh' tour started on June 1 and is scheduled to end on September 14.

"Touring with Barrington Levy has been a next-level step in my career. Barrington gives me a sold-out audience of people to hear my music and I have been receiving much love from the people and support for my performance, along with numerous followers," said Brandon Rootz. "I am making connections with promoters who would like to book me for future events." Howard Theater in Washington, DC; The Catalyst in Santa Cruz, California; House of Blues in New Orleans, Louisiana; and Sony Music Hall in New York City, are some of the major venues Brandon Rootz has appeared with Levy.

Brandon Rootz was raised on the music of artistes like Levy in northern California. In 2023, he collaborated with Luciano on the song Without The Greed. You're Like an Angel, his digital duet with Gregory Isaacs, produced by King Jammy, was also released that year.

Brandon Rootz' debut album, recorded mainly at Tuff Gong studios in Kingston, is scheduled for release this year.
