Elderly man fatally hit by truck on boxing day
A 70 year old man from Manchester has died from injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle collision in May Day, Manchester, on Boxing Day.
The deceased has been identified as Anthony Williams, a taxi operator of Waltham District, Manchester.
Reports are that about 9:30 p.m. on December 26, Williams reportedly walked from behind a parked vehicle onto the roadway in the May Day area when he was struck by an NPR Isuzu motor truck. He sustained severe injuries in the crash.
He was assisted to the Mandeville General Hospital, where he was admitted for treatment. He later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the motor truck has been warned for prosecution, and investigations are being carried out by the Mandeville Traffic Department.
