Leoda Bradshaw assault case postponed again
The assault case in which murder accused Leoda Bradshaw is the complainant was on Tuesday, March 3, postponed to March 6 due to the absence of the accused woman.
When the matter was mentioned before Acting Senior Parish Court Judge Janelle Nelson Gayle in the St Catherine Parish Court, the court was told that Kilfer Gilchrist, who is charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, was not brought from the South Camp Adult Correctional Centre.
At the previous hearing, an attempt at mediation failed after Bradshaw declined.
Bradshaw had reported that she was physically attacked by Gilchrist while both were in custody at the Bridgeport lock up in Portmore, St Catherine.
Bradshaw remains behind bars in connection with the 2023 murders of 27-year-old Toshyna Patterson and her 10-month-old daughter, Sarayah Paulwell, the child of People's National Party Member of Parliament Phillip Paulwell.
The former United States Navy officer, who shares a child with Paulwell, is charged with two counts each of capital murder, conspiracy to murder, kidnapping and conspiracy to kidnapping.
Prosecutors have alleged that on September 9, 2023, Patterson and her baby were abducted from their Gilmour Drive home in St Andrew, taken to east Kingston, shot and killed, and their bodies burned. They have further alleged that Bradshaw was the mastermind behind the killings.
A possible trial period of September 26 to November 23 has previously been set in that matter.
The assault case will be mentioned again on March 6.
