April 29, 2025

Needing a win to oust direct rivals Lime Hall FC and secure their place in the last four of the Jamaica Football Championships (JFC), Spanish Town Police FC did just that, winning 3-1 to take the second semi-final spot from Zone A.

Spanish Town Police ended the regular season with 26 points, three behind group winners Meadforest FC after 14 matches.

Lime Hall, the former Jamaica Premier League (JPL) team, came into the match two points clear of their opponents and needed only a point to ensure their semi-final place.

The St Ann team got off to a glorious start, scoring after only three minutes through O'Neil Henry.

The scoreline stayed that way until 12 minutes into the second half, when Chevon Walters' strike brought Spanish Town Police level.

The home team added further goals through Robert Allen in the 77th minute and Oshane Senior in the 88th to claim the win.

MEADFOREST ON TOP

Meanwhile, Meadforest still finished atop the group on 29 points, despite playing to a 1-1 draw with Gray's Inn.

Gray's Inn ended second from bottom with 10 points.

Goals from Leon Reynolds, Damion Herrera, Curtel Lakes and Dayeshanell Russell put Tru Juice 4-0 up. McNeil Foreman's added-time goal gave Progressive a consolation.

Progressive ended in sixth on 12 points.

In the zone's other game, Baptiste Alliance and Portlanders played to a 2-2 draw. Orlando Ricketts scored twice to give Baptiste Alliance a healthy lead. But Portlanders salvaged a draw through goals from Norman Parson and Andrew Bruce.
