From Lila Iké to Vybz Kartel: Jamaica shines in Best Reggae Album nominations at Grammys
Jamaica is making waves at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, with all nominees for Best Reggae Album hailing from the island, including three first-time nominees.
Leading the pack is Lila Ike with her debut album Treasure Self Love, joined by Vybz Kartel with Heart and Soul, Keznamdi with BLXXD & FYAH, Mortimer with From Within, and Jesse Royal with No Place Like Home.
This year's nominations highlight the full spectrum of reggae and dancehall. Ike delivers soulful self-affirmation, Kartel brings introspective edge, Keznamdi experiments with fiery energy, Mortimer offers roots-rich reflections, and Royal pays homage to home and heritage.
For Ike, Keznamdi and Mortimer, this is their first Grammy nod. Vybz Kartel was previously nominated in 2024 for Party With Me, while Jesse Royal earned a nod in 2021 for Royal.
Last year, the Grammy for Best Reggae Album went to Bob Marley: One Love - Music Inspired by the Film (Various Artists).
The winners of the 68th Annual Grammy Awards will be revealed in Los Angeles on February 1.
