Early morning shooting in St Catherine, taximan dead

Police are searching for those responsible for the fatal shooting of a 56-year-old taxi operator in Bowers District in St Catherine this morning.

Rudolph 'Rusty' Francis of the parish.

Reports are that explosions were heard about 12:40 a.m., and Francis was later found on the roadway in the area.

Cops were summoned and the scene was processed.

The body moved to hospital where death was confirmed.

No motive has been established in Francis' death.

The Old Harbour Criminal Investigation Branch is conducting a probe in the matter.
