Mojo Morgan powers Kingston City Run with ‘Spirit’
The Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA) has officially signed Grammy-winning artiste Mojo Morgan of Morgan Heritage as the first-ever musical ambassador for Kingston City Run.
Mojo Morgan's selection was announced at a signing ceremony held recently at Courtleigh Hotel & Suites in New Kingston, marked by the exclusive reveal of a specially produced trailer for his new single Spirit.
Set for March 15 under the bold theme 'Pirates Run Di City', the race is stepping into a bigger spotlight this year, fusing music, movement, tourism and philanthropy into one electrifying platform.
JHTA President Christopher Jarrett described the collaboration as a cultural turning point. Kingston City Run, he said, is about community transformation
"Kingston City Run has always been about more than athletic performance -- it is about community transformation," Jarrett said.
"The signing of Mojo Morgan and the exclusive unveiling of Spirit elevate the platform in a way that authentically blends culture, health, and social responsibility," he added.
Jarret said that by aligning with Mojo Morgan, the event expands its reach while staying rooted in its mission to uplift Jamaica's most vulnerable.
For Morgan, the partnership is personal.
"This is about spirit in every sense -- spiritual strength, physical health, community resilience. The Kingston City Run is not just a race; it is a movement," he said.
Spirit, rich with emotion and purpose, mirrors Kingston's ongoing push to support homeless and vulnerable citizens, including those still recovering from Hurricane Melissa.
The song draws inspiration from Oceans by Hillsong United, a global anthem of hope during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mojo Morgan channels that same message of renewal, creating a soundtrack designed to power runners across the finish line -- and beyond.
At its core, Kingston City Run remains about impact. Since 2013, the event has raised more than $21 million to support organisations including the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation-operated Marie Atkins Night Shelter, Open Arms Development Centre, Alpha Institute, Missionaries of the Poor and Food For The Poor.
For 2026, organisers are seeking to raise $5 million to support organisations that provide care, dignity, and opportunity to Jamaica's most vulnerable.
